Brow Lamination vs Microblading: How to Choose
Brows shape how the rest of your face reads, so it's worth taking a minute before booking to figure out which treatment actually matches what you want. The two most common questions we get are about brow lamination and microblading, and they solve pretty different problems.
Brow lamination is about your existing hair
If you already have enough brow hair but it grows in different directions, or you're tired of daily brow gel, lamination is the simpler option. It's a semi-permanent treatment that straightens and sets your brow hairs upward for a fuller, brushed look, and we finish it with a tint for extra definition. The whole thing takes around 45 minutes and there's no needles involved.
Microblading is about filling in what's missing
Microblading is a different kind of treatment. Fine, hair-like strokes of pigment are drawn into the skin to build shape where brows are sparse, patchy, or uneven. It's a longer session at around two hours, and results typically last one to two years before they fade and need a refresh. It's the better choice if your main issue is missing hair rather than direction.
What about touch ups
If you've had microblading before, a touch up session six to eight weeks after the first procedure (or once a year after that) keeps the shape and color looking sharp. It's a shorter appointment than the initial one, usually about ninety minutes.
A quick way to decide
- Enough hair, just messy or unruly: brow lamination with tinting.
- Thin, patchy or uneven brows: microblading.
- Already microbladed and it's starting to fade: a touch up session.
If you're still unsure, that's completely normal. It usually comes down to your hair density and how much upkeep you want to deal with day to day.
