Lash Lift vs Lash Extensions: Which One Actually Suits You?
Both treatments get you dramatic lashes without reaching for mascara, so it's easy to assume they're interchangeable. They're not. One works with the lashes you already have, and the other adds to them.
Lash lift with tinting: enhancing what's already there
A lash lift curls your natural lashes from the root and tints them, so they look longer and darker with zero extensions attached. It's low maintenance, there's nothing to fill in every few weeks, and it suits anyone who wants their own lashes to simply look their best. Sessions run around 45 minutes.
Lash extensions: added length, volume and drama
Extensions are individual fibers attached to each natural lash, and they come in a few strengths depending on how bold you want to go: classic (one extension per lash) for an everyday natural look, 2D for extra fullness, and 3D for a bold, glamorous finish. These need refills roughly every 2-3 weeks as your natural lashes shed and grow.
A quick way to decide
- Want a natural, low-maintenance upgrade with no upkeep appointments: lash lift with tinting.
- Want noticeably longer, fuller lashes and don't mind refills: classic, 2D or 3D extensions.
- Have naturally short or sparse lashes: extensions will give a bigger visible change than a lift.
- Prefer something that grows out gracefully with zero maintenance in between: lash lift.
Can you do both?
Not at the same time, since extensions are applied directly onto natural lashes and a lift changes their curl at the root. Some clients alternate: a lift for a few months, then a set of extensions for a special occasion or holiday season.
